I started doing indexing for Family Search.com. What that means is that I type up the information on a variety of public records into the computer and send that info back to the website. The website then stores that information for the public to use to research their ancestry. I have done some census records, death certificates, marriage certificates, and tried to do some passenger lists. I have completed 1184 names. Some of the records are typed up but mostly are handwritten. Sometimes they are hard to read. The census records are all hand written and some are really sloppy. You would think that they would sample people's handwriting before they let them work for the census!!
