So, school will be back in session in about two weeks for our family. Regan will be a junior, Meredith will be a freshman, Sydney will be in 4th grade, and Phillip will be in 1st grade. Wow, all my children in school for the full day!
I bought and read the fourth Twilight book by Stephenie Meyer - Breaking Dawn - and read it in two-and-a-half days. It would have been sooner except that I had to share with Meredith. ;-]
We went to the Summers Family Reunion on July 25th and 26th. It was quite an event! We had a red-neck theme for the reunion. The games were complete with mattress rides (a mattress with a rope around it, pulled behind a four-wheeler through the meadow), horseshoes played with toilet seats, duck chuck - we tried to see how far we could throw a duck decoy, a tire throw, redneck golf - using hubcaps to throw and see how close they would get to a post, a corn dog trap shoot, and a red-neck family feud. One of the highlights was Steve's Aunt Karen, riding into the camp on her lawn tractor, in curlers and a robe, with a mason jar of ice water. It was quite a hoot. The next morning the kids got to ride horses. This was a treat for my kids because they hadn't ridden or didn't remember having ridden a horse. We quite enjoyed ourselves.
Meredith cut her hair this week and is donating it to the Locks of Love again. This is her second time donating it. She has a cute haircut now. She also got the last of her braces removed. She is quite excited to be done.
Sydney also cut her hair this week and put some layers in it. She also looks cute.
Phillip hasn't been doing anything special lately except for ruining our Mac iBook. He put a magnet near the computer and it won't work. I tried everything recommended and the support finally told me that I would just need to take it into an Apple Computer shop for diagnosis. This is just fabulous since our PC is already on its last leg. Oh, and I don't have the money to pay for a new computer right now.
